Water and Sewer
Sign up and billing for water and sewer service is through the City Administrator's office. Payment may be made by automatic withdrawal, by dropping it in the utility payments box on the south side of the city offices or by mailing it to or dropping it off at the city administrator's office. The city contracts for water service through Southern Sioux Rural Water System. If you would like to sign up for electronic transfer (automatic withdrawal), please complete the attached form and return to the City offices.

Garbage and Recycling
Sign up and billing for garbage/recycling service is also through the City Administrator's office. Payments may be made in the same manner as for water and sewer.
Garbage pick-up is on Tuesdays (Wednesday if Tuesday is a legal holiday). Have your garbage at the curb no later than 8:00 a.m. Each customer is allowed 2 30-gallon cans or 4 large bags per week. if you need to use additional cans/bags, you must obtain tags from the City Administrator's office. Additional cost is $1.00 per 30 gallon bag or can. Effective August 1, 2014, the rate for residential garbage and recycling pickup is $15.00/month.
Curbside recycling pick-up is on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Please have your recycling tote at the curb by 7:00 a.m. It should be placed at least 3 feet away from any obstruction.
The city has provided 64-gallon recycling totes. Cost of the totes is $48 with 1/2 being paid by the city and 1/2 billed to the customer's first utility bill. Totes belong to the property address and must be transferred to the new owner if the property is sold or tenancy ended. The cost of replacing a tote is the homeowner's responsibility.
Please recycle as much waste as possible. A list of recyclables is attached here.
Refundable cans and bottles: If you do not want to return your cans and bottles for the refund, there is a bin on the north side of the concession stand at the city park. Please use it only for items that carry a refund and be very careful if placing glass inside the bin. The proceeds support the Ireton Summer Rec program.

Please do not use these disposal sites for any other materials.
